Your Training Programme
The Ineos Manufacturing Scotland Ltd Training Programme is a competency-based
programme which means the duration of the programme is determined by the
capability of the individual. The training programme normally is over a 4 year
period.
Year one will be primarily spent at Forth Valley College while the remaining
years you'll be based at INEOS Grangemouth site and assigned to a working team.
This will give you the opportunity to gain hands-on, competency-based skills
training, an opportunity to complete learning for your VQ portfolio and to
attend college on day release. During this time, you’ll achieve your VQ in your
chosen discipline along with your relevant HNC.
The disciplines that are available :
- Mechanical Engineering
The purpose of the post is to install, maintain and repair mechanical equipment
to allow the manufacturing process to operate in a safe, reliable and cost
effective manner.
- Process Engineering
The purpose of the post is to start-up, control and shutdown process plant and
equipment to allow the manufacturing process to operate in a safe, reliable and
cost effective manner.
- Instrument and Electrical Engineering
The purpose of the post is to install maintain and repair electrical and
instrumental equipment to allow the manufacturing process to operate in a safe,
reliable and cost effective manner.
Course includes:
- Fully-supervised, on-the-job learning with workshop/plant experience
- A HNC qualification at a local college to underpin knowledge in your
chosen discipline
- Specific safety training
- Exposure to a breadth of experiences on a multi-disciplined site
Success so far
For the last 5 years, almost 150 people have gone through the Modern
Apprenticeship scheme and are now employed in core technician posts within the
petrochemical industry. Apprentices are quickly adopted and integrated into the
workforce, and they regularly win independent awards for apprenticeship
achievements.
