Asset Integrity Engineer –NORTH




FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the post holder will act as the single point of contact for all Integrity related matters ensuring Integrity compliance for the FPS North sites.

Undertakes the co-ordination of all inspection activities including supporting/enabling scopes of work. Manage and drive the planning and execution of Integrity repair orders (ROs) / Fabric Maintenace Programmes.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Strong, demonstrable SHE leadership within the office environment and onsite

  • Own the 8Q plan for all inspection, FM & Repair scopes, ensuring budgets are in place and delivered per the plan.

  • Coordinate the execution of all Integrity related activities (including enabling works) at the Ineos FPS North sites.

  • Interface with all key stakeholders (Integrity Management, Asset Engineering, Operations & Technical team) to understand the ongoing inspection needs and support.

  • Drive the delivery of FM / repair orders by the FMRO execution team, identify slippage and/or potential overdue items putting action plans in place to remedy.

  • Contract operations owner for CAPE

  • Facilitate fortnightly progress meeting with stakeholders and weekly KPI reporting

  • Budget management and forecasting

  • Develop scopes of work and identify isolation/control of work requirements along with the operations team.

  • Liaise with the PS Integrity Engineer and Asset Mechanical Engineer for the timely completion of BOLLs and MRCs.

  • Liaise with TAR team for execution of production outage dependant work scopes

  • Work with the technical team to engineer solutions for more complex/larger scopes

  • Prepare internal work packs for intergity related scopes of work.

  • Manage 3rd party specialists as required for the execution of Intergity Scopes

  • Continually update the asset tracker and work closely with the asset scheduler to ensure that the tracker corresponds with the asset plan

  • Initiate MoC’s for non like-for-like and repairs to facilitate/record the associated risk assessment

  • Manage the asset register of piping repairs and ensure compliane with company procedures

Job Requirements

  • Post holder will be part of the FPS Incident Management Team (formal rota)

  • Periods of inconvenience to support planned and unplanned outages

  • Deputise as required for Engineering and Maintenance Manager

Qualifications, knowledge and Skills

  • Relevant engineering degree qualified

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create relationships with stakeholders and 3rd party specialists.

  • Knowledgable of Risk Based Inspection techniques, corrosion circuits, and written schemes of examination

  • Understands P&IDs, Isometrics, line lists, pipework specs and able to technically interpret data.

  • Awareness of Industry standards (API 570,579,580) relating to inspection and fitness for purpose of piping and structural systems

  • Awareness of industry standards relating to piping, pipeline and structrual design and repair. (E.G. ASME B16 series, B31.3, 31.4 ASME PCC2, ISO24817)

  • Knowledgable of piping and structural repair techniques (clamps, swaged connectors, engineered wraps, non-engineered wraps, “fish plating” etc)

  • Awareness of NDT techniques

  • Awareness of piping survey methods (Laser Survey, basic isometric sketching) and be able to determine which is appropriate depending on piping system / complexity

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Good understanding & awareness of on and offshore processes & working practices

  • Understanding of isolation philosophies (determine from P&IDs when an isolation can be achieved outwith a production shutdown)

  • Proficient in the use of Maximo and MS Office
