Asset Mechanical Engineers (competitive salary and benefits)

Location - Grangemouth

Job Purpose:

Maintain the integrity of all static equipment and associated protective systems across the KG Asset in accordance with legislative requirements to support delivery of Safety, Health, Environmental, Reliability and Financial performance targets. With rigour and technical expertise, provide discipline support to Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Planning and Turnaround Teams.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Delivery of the INEOS 20 Principles for Behavioural and Process Safety, thereby promoting plant integrity and personal safety.
• Maintain, Optimise and Deliver asset care policies for all static mechanical equipment, thereby furthering ongoing asset reliability, protective systems integrity and cost control programmes.
• Drive compliance with legislative requirements, engineering standards, procedures and practices related to static equipment.
• Maintain asset spares and equipment holding for static equipment, to maximise asset reliability and to drive maintenance and TAR efficiency/cost performance
• Provide discipline expertise and root cause analysis in troubleshooting asset static equipment vulnerabilities, to minimise impact on the short through long term operating plan
• Provide discipline expertise for all asset improvement projects and act as formal discipline sign off to ensure required level of service delivery
• Generate and submit prioritised mechanical budget applications, to address asset static equipment requirements. Deliver scope of approved budget applications, on time and to budget
• Specify TAR work scope requirements (in accordance with asset strategy) for static equipment and assist in the execution and delivery of safe TARs, on time and to budget
• Train, coach and mentor individuals in the department to fully deliver their roles and develop further capabilities and competences

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

• Degree level qualification - Mechanical Engineering
• Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or in process of gaining chartership within an identified timescale)
• > 5 years’ experience in Operations environment
• Knowledge of theory and practice of managing equipment reliability systems and processes
• Strong understanding of discipline legislative and technology requirements and demonstrated ability to appropriately derive equipment inspection and maintenance regimes
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques, reliability tools and vulnerability analysis
• Influence key stake holders (internally and externally) and negotiates effectively to deliver business objectives
• Strong networking and communication skills, to communicate effectively across all levels of the O&P organization and to 3rd parties with the appropriate style
• Has a logical, proactive and methodical approach to problem solving, the ability to recognize key issues
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated and prepared to work flexibly in a changing environment
• Strong commitment to improvement in SHE performance
