INEOS FPS

FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.
Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth.

Job Purpose


Reporting to the Planning & Optimisation Manager, the post holder is responsible for the maintenance and ownership of the FPS economic model. Providing high quality analysis and numerical interpretation of FPS and Customer data; and involves direct contribution to the delivery of $100m EBITDA to the INEOS FPS business.

Principle Accountabilities
Economic Analysis

  • Perform all economic analysis for Forties Pipeline System and the GAEL System

  • Own, maintain and contribute to the development of the FPS economic model

  • Provide analytical input for standard reporting processes (e.g. impairments, tariffs etc)

  • Identify key agreement trigger points (i.e. Cost Share)

Planning & Performance Management

  • Assist with the integrated planning process and asset strategy development

  • Coordinate with INEOS teams to accurately represent the plan (inclusive of any plan options)

Commercial Optimisation & Value Delivery

  • Support identification, quantification and delivery of EBITDA and cash options

  • Provide commercial inputs to key project documentation e.g. Investment documents, Project stage gate reviews

Business Development

  • Support business development studies and negotiations about expansion of the scope and/or spread of the FPS business

  • Undertake competitive analysis of other infrastructure systems and entrants to optimise the FPS ‘offer’.

  • Build and maintain awareness of industry activity in support of the above

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Degree or equivalent; with a numerical bias

  • A general business awareness

  • Ability to analyse, interpret and clearly communicate complex business information

  • Self-starter and desire to learn and develop

  • Strong IT skills, Excel, Powerpoint and Word

  • Ability to influence others using networking, communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities

  • Strong track record of timely delivery

  • Experience of the upstream oil & gas industry and/or Infrastructure is desirable

  • Able work independently with limited supervision

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
