Having committed to significant investment over the next few years, we now require a Civils Construction Supervisor with relevant experience to play a key role in the delivery and support of this growth in our business.

As a Civils Construction Supervisor you will facilitate and drive all aspects of Civils construction within the KG asset from conception to completion. This will be solely civils biased but an understanding of the interdependency of Mechanical, E&I and support services such as scaffolding will be beneficial.


  • Be aware of and apply relevant International, National and INEOS standards, systems and procedures for construction activities to satisfy legislative requirements and meet business goals for cost, schedule, HSE and quality.
  • Lead the delivery of the construction work in the field, coordinating resources, materials, permits and everything necessary to complete the work on time, in budget, to the design intent and to the required HSE and quality standards.
  • Direct, control and motivate the execution of construction work on behalf of INEOS, such that the allocated resources are in a position to deliver and perform to the required standards.
  • Monitor construction activities and resolve technical queries to ensure projects are constructed to drawings, specifications and good construction practices.
  • Monitor the quality of construction work, carry out punching activities and coordinate the completions process.
  • Review scopes of work, execution plans, method statements and risk assessments to ensure that work can be executed safely and efficiently within timescales.
  • Provide construction expertise and advice during design, safety and engineering reviews to ensure that construction requirements and legislation are complied with.
  • Monitor and control construction spend and authorise site instructions for additional work to ensure delivery of events within agreed budgets.
  • Ensure that accurate and complete “as Built” information is provided to update site records with the correct information.
  • Monitor and progress against the construction plan and chair progress meetings and take action as required to resolve issues.
  • Provide progress reports to Project Managers / Construction Managers to monitor the delivery, ensure problems/issues are anticipated/ identified/ flagged at the earliest opportunity and that appropriate mitigations/solutions are put in place etc.

  • Interfaces with Construction Manager, Project Managers and Asset Teams
  • Interfaces with engineering design contractors, construction contractor companies and sub-contractors.
  • Understands and manages industrial relations within own portfolio.
  • Capable of managing and prioritising conflicting resource demands within own portfolio.
  • Good decision making skills within all own area of expertise.
  • Able to build strong working relationships with key people involved in his project portfolio.
  • Fulfil the role of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator when required.

Qualifications, knowledge and skills

  • HNC qualified or equivalent in civil construction.
  • Safety trained for managing site construction works, e.g. 5 day CITB SMSTS or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of ground investigation, pilling, re-inforcement of steel, slab, beam, columns, concrete and structural steel.
  • Relevant experience of supervising in a Civil Construction environment ideally relating to refining, petrochemical or similar large industrial facilities
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of supervising civil construction contractors.
  • Working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • IT literate and competent in the use of Microsoft office suite
  • Understanding of project management processes
  • Understanding of the budgeting process and cost control
  • Disciplined planning and organisation skills together with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Has a logical, proactive and methodical approach to problem solving,
  • The ability to recognise key issues and who needs to know about them
  • The personal drive to take responsibility and drive delivery on behalf of the client.
  • Has the ability to assimilate and analyse data and information and to report recommendations and justification.
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and prepared to work flexibly in a changing environment
