Completions Engineer - Contract

This is an exciting time to join us at our Grangemouth site, INEOS’ largest manufacturing asset which includes Scotland’s only crude oil refinery.

Having committed to significant investment over the next few years, we now require a Completions Engineer with relevant experience of working within a Petrochemicals environment working on large scale projects.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the O&P UK Project Services Manager, the post holder will be required to define and develop all completions activities in compliance with site standards and (Turnaround) TAR processes to support the delivery of the site projects and TAR programme.

The Completions Engineer will support the site project portfolio which will include TAR’s and plant modification support that spans all businesses in O&P UK.  The role will involve managing a number of projects at different stages simultaneously with emphasis on SHE, quality, schedule and cost.

As part of the role the job will include:

  • Developing Completions Strategies including handover requirements which will involve liaising with others in the project team to agree an input to the Project Execution Plan.

  • Translating drawings and project scope from Approved for Construction packs to breakdown into systems for handover

  • Writing a handover description in enough detail to describe the scope being handed over clearly

  • Defining documentation required for phased and final handover eg: certification, design drawings and documents (multi-discipline)

  • Ensure correct paperwork and signatures are collated every time and within schedule

  • Estimate project manhours and manage own time within a tight budget and communicate when something changes

  • Use of Microsoft package and local Completions Database to track, monitor and report progress of project

  • Work as part of various project teams but also using own initiative

  • Drive conversations forward and look at all options resulting in the best all round solution

    Qualifications and Technical Experience:

  • HNC/City & Guilds in relevant discipline or 2 years’ experience in similar role

  • Experience of Completions within an Oil & Gas / Refining / Petrochemical environment preferred or equivalent

  • Prior Turnaround experience is desired

  • Knowledge of Punching process and Plant Modification process

  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications, intermediate Excel would be of benefit

  • Be proactive, able to foresee issues, resolve ahead of time and react as situations change with quality always a priority
