INEOS, one of the largest independent global chemical companies is seeking to recruit a highly motivated DCS Engineer for an 18 month fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide ownership and a total asset care service (design, maintenance, modifications, upgrades) ensuring they are maintained to meet business HSE/reliability targets and comply with Ineos Grangemouth standards.
  • Assist with the recovery of programmable systems during major incidents/emergencies to maximize plant availability.
  • Provide technical systems’ expertise to each Ineos business (incl projects, TARs, operations, study/development, etc) on site
  • Maintain and ensure security of local systems domain to prevent Cyber attacks to meet business availability and HSE targets.

Candidates must have also have experience and understanding of the following:

  • Proven IT skills with Windows Server 2016/Win10 knowledge including a thorough understanding of computer systems and networking.
  • In depth DCS systems design capability
  • Strong analytical ability to support effective troubleshooting and determine solutions to complex technical problems which the jobholder may have not seen before.
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring others.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to understand advanced technical instructional material and data and implement technological advances to existing systems.
  • Ability to act as lead DCS engineer on medium projects (>500K) and develop project estimates based on design and engineering standards.
  • Thorough understanding of instrumentation system interactions with the associated control system and the ability to mentor and lead other disciplines in these areas.
  • Ability to analyse and understand cross-discipline (Process, I/E) problems/requests.
