Engineering Manager  

Sitting at the heart of the petrochemical site at Grangemouth, Scotland, is the KG ethylene cracker. Such is the importance of the ethylene we produce that, what we don’t use as a feedstock for our co-located chemical plants, is piped around the UK, shipped into Europe and traded around the world.
In 2018, we announced our intent to build another furnace on the plant, building upon the significant investment already made over the last few years. We are therefore looking for an Engineering Lead with relevant experience to play a key role in the delivery and support of this growth in our business.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and deliver a machinery and engineering strategy for KG to achieve short and long term targets for asset integrity , viability , asset condition and costs
  • Delivery Engineering Assurance to ensure compliance with legislative and site engineering and integrity requirements for KG
  • Develop the capability, organizational structure and performance of the KG Engineering team to meet business targets for HSE, availability and fixed costs
  • Network with; and influence Engineering Managers, TA's and Integrity Leaders across the site to promote and develop O&P best practices and improve overall processes and efficiency
  • Train, coach and mentor individuals in the department to fully deliver their roles and develop further capabilities and competences

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree level qualification , preferably mechanical engineering
  • Proven ability in managing organizational change
  • Influence key stake holders (internally and externally) and negotiates effectively to deliver business objectives
  • Strong networking and communication skills, to communicate effectively across all levels of the O&P organization and to 3rd parties with the appropriate style
  • Has a logical, proactive and methodical approach to problem solving, the ability to recognize key issues
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and prepared to work flexibly in a changing environment
  • Strong commitment to improvement in SHE performance
