FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil, gas transportation and processing system serving the central area of the North Sea.
As part of the wider SHE & Compliance Team, the H&S Specialist team are responsible for setting the H&S strategic direction for the FPS business. The team act as the focal point for liaising with relevant regulatory bodies, defining the management system standard requirements, providing assurance and support services to the FPS business.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Specialist Team Leader, the Industrial Hygienist will support the INEOS FPS business in monitoring, managing and ultimately reducing the risk to site based personnel from health related hazards.
The INEOS FPS Industrial Hygienist will act as the primary point of contact for Industrial Hygiene support to the INEOS FPS business, working closely with the Health and Hygiene Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will provide technical advice and guidance to the role holder as required
Develop and maintaining specific Industrial Hygiene standards within the INEOS FPS management system (FMS) to enact all legislative requirements; and recommended good practices.Once in place the individual supports the ongoing oversight of compliance with the defined management system standards
Identifying risk based solutions to aid the organisation in managing the health risks associated with both routine operations and non-routine activities (e.g. TAR, Project and Maintenance)
Working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organisation to educate and influence the business on Health and Hygiene related matters
Must be capable of and willing to travel to remote sites periodically and offshore for day trips
Develop and maintain connections with the wider INEOS organisation, local relevant companies, and with relevant government, industry and professional bodies to share best practice in Industrial Hygiene
Qualifications, knowledge and Skills
- Graduate – medical/biological/chemical sciences
- Post graduate qualification in Industrial Hygiene; ideally working towards chartered membership of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS)
- Understanding of current and impending regulatory requirements for Industrial Hygiene compliance, including but not limited to COSHH, NAWR, IRR, PPE, Vibration, Non Ionising Radiation, Thermal Environment
- Detailed knowledge of current best practice and developments in Industrial Hygiene
Job Knowledge Skills:
Strong understanding of process operating environments (chemicals, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemicals)
Excellent communication and team working skills
