Maintenance Specialist (Instrument/ Electrical)

Job Purpose

Responsible for the planning and scheduling of repair, maintenance, inspection, and area engineering related activities to be delivered in an asset. The post-holder will report to the asset Planning Team Leader and work with relevant discipline job owner to ensure safe and efficient delivery of activities.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Detailed job planning for all Instrument and Electrical maintenance inspection and area engineering related activities.
  • Deliver fully optimised schedules for these disciplines for the asset.
  • Carry out detailed job planning within Maximo MMS
  • Cost ownership of all maintenance activities including estimate reviews, budget adherence and overspend justification.
  • Preparation of the maintenance disciplines, 12wk, 6wk and 2wk schedules for a dedicated asset area.
  • Resource tracking and levelling of the maintenance, inspection and area engineering schedules.
  • Identification and securing availability of vendors and materials.
  • Work with relevant job owner to ensure job readiness.
  • Manage/Ownership of the Planned Maintenance and Job Plan data set.
  • Manage/Ownership of the instrument, electrical, analyser and metering corrective backlog.
  • Ensure accurate job plans exist for all PM activities within Maximo including all resources, services, materials, procedures, documents, tools etc.
  • Monitor work management process to ensure ongoing review and accuracy of all PM and job plan data.

Job Requirements

  • Experience of operational, engineering and maintenance systems and processes.
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance standards, Integrity Management, Control of work and HSSE.
  • Understanding of Planning and Scheduling processes, concepts and tools.
  • Good communication and engagement skills.

Qualifications, knowledge and Skills

  • ONC/HNC in Electrical/Measurement and Control Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Time served apprenticship as an Instrument/Electrical technician.
  • Understanding of SIS checks and knowledge of Hazardous area inspections.
  • CompEx trained.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft base products, Primavera & CMMS (Maximo).
  • Positive attitude, self-confident, independent with the ability to work on their own initiative.
