FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Asset Operations Manager, the post holder is accountable for delivering required Asset operating performance within all relevant integrity, regulatory, SHE and cost constraints. Identify and manage all resources required to deliver the Asset production plan and associated manufacturing targets on a short, medium and long term basis.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Maintain and nurture relationships with customers and third parties in the course of negotiations and asset management

  • Manage the Manufacturing area to ensure safe and environmentally sound asset operation

  • Provide leadership and co-ordination all other functions/activities in pursuit of agreed current and future manufacturing performance metrics

  • Set demand for and co-ordinate all engineering, maintenance, technical and operational support to allow the asset to meet the short term production plan and maximum EBITDA contribution

  • Adhere rigorously to Site and Asset standards/policies in all elements of asset operation to lead, drive and ensure required operational, SHE and legislative compliance performance. Provide authorisation/sanction of any operational deviations

  • Act as focal point for the asset in all interactions with SEPA and HSEx and other external bodies

  • On a sustainable basis, establish and manage an asset operating team with the competency and capability to deliver the required short through long term operating performance and associated improvement plans

  • Line manage all direct reports (and ensure same for 2nd reports) in compliance with policies and procedures to ensure current and future manning and development requirements are satisfied

  • Manage local Industrial Relations in accordance with Site policies, procedures and expectations

  • Accountable for ensuring 24/7 delivery of agreed production plan and any agreed/enforced deviations

  • Principal point of contact with P&O and Business organisations regarding Asset capability/vulnerabilities and provides final sanction on agreed operating plans for the Asset

  • Define and manage the Asset operating fixed cost budget.

  • Define Asset variable cost budget and manage plant operation to achieve or better budget performance. Drive improvement plan to deliver long term improvements in alignment with Asset strategy.

  • Act as Gatekeeper for all minor through to major capital project works for the Asset, defining scope, quality and timing requirements.

  • Drive development and management of cross functional Asset reliability/vulnerability action plans/strategies to ensure asset performance is continuously improved to secure medium and long term required performance.

  • Develop and implement strategies in pursuit of operational excellence to improve operating performance

Qualifications and Technical Experience

  • Degree or equivalent

  • Graduate qualified with >10 years experience in asset operations

  • Intimate knowledge of asset operating procedures and activities, including key interactions with other Site operating units

  • Strong knowledge of Site operating standards/procedures and relevant HSE legislation

  • Strong knowledge of Site/Asset working practices to facilitate others to support aligned delivery of the asset operating plan

  • Strong knowledge of project and TAR execution, with specific focus on quality control and associated handover/commissioning requirements

  • Proven ability to line-manage, coach and develop engineer/supervisor/technician personnel in a unionised environment

  • Strong leadership skills, able to influence across functions and services to drive aligned delivery of all manufacturing requirements on a technically complex asset

  • High level of personal integrity, placing real importance and giving leadership on this front

  • High level of communication skills, dealing with all levels in the organisation

  • Strong decision making skills, both within and outwith area of expertise

  • Ability to create and manage to a budget
