Senior Completions Engineer

Contract Role

Grangemouth

Job purpose

Lead and implement the Completions and Documentation Handover programme for “B&C Segregation” and “NEP Enabling” projects utilising the Grangemouth site Completions tools & processes and in compliance with relevant site standards.

Act as NEP Project interface tag into EPC contractor’s Completion function; develop expert knowledge of EPC contractor’s Completion tools and workflows, facilitate assessment of suitability and compatibility of EPC contractor’s Completions certification with similar Ineos tools and assist in development of seamless Completions strategy that support modularised construction execution.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Support the NEP Completion Manager in delivery of the overall Completions Team objectives.
  • Develop the systemisation of workscopes for System/ Sub-system handover in conjunction with the Commissioning Manager and Construction Authorities.
  • Generate mark-ups of system/ sub-system limits for each, and maintain a master set of composite drawings (P&IDs, SLDs etc) to show all component systems/ sub-systems.
  • Collate the mechanical completion handover packs (AC-1s) from AFC execution packs and maintain current with regards to any post-AFC re-issue of documents.
  • Prepare the associated construction completion certificates/ AC1’s and system handover/ PHAC ahead of project construction phase for timely pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Maintain and manage a master register of all punchlist items
  • Ensure that any RFIs, TQs, Deviation and Concession Requests are correctly identified against relevant handover packages and report on their status at mechanical completion stage (AC-1)
  • During construction phase, obtain all relevant certificates, red-lined As-Builds, punch lists and signatures in line with site standards to ensure timely handover of each project phase.
  • Expedite acquisition of approval signatures for AC-1, PHAC and associated PMPs (Pts 4 & 5)
  • Post construction phase, support the Project Manager by identifying and proactively resolving outstanding issues to achieve the timely close out of the project.
  • Update progress in the project Completions Database in real time to reflect and accurately report the Completions status of the project scope of works and commissioning.
  • Collate Red-line As-Built drawings against the project drawing register to ensure all project drawings are accounted for, stamped and signed before the designer can finalise in Autocad.
  • Assist with the development of Completions systems and process by challenging existing ways of working and using experience to continually improve team operations.
  • Provide reports as required to assist the project in driving completions objectives.

Special Features

  • The Senior Completions Engineer must build strong working relationships with people at all levels in the organisation including Construction Supervisors, Commissioning Engineers, Project Managers, Turnaround Managers, Asset Engineers and 3rd party contractors.
  • Must be prepared and able to take the lead in driving the Completions process forwards.
  • Must be able to manage data input quickly and accurately.
  • Familiarity with Ineos G ’mouth Completions and certification database is required.
  • Superior familiarity with Ineos G ‘mouth plant mod process (PMPs) is required.
  • Familiarity with Completions processes (databases) other than the Ineos G ‘mouth system would be beneficial, e.g. WinCERTS, WinPCS, QEDi etc.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Completions function of major projects or turnaround events within the petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals or oil and gas environment.
  • The role has a high degree of autonomy, requires a fastidious attention to detail, exceptional data management skills and a high degree of pro-activity.
  • Must be competent in reading/ interpreting key engineering drawing from multiple disciplines e.g. Single Line, Loop and Block Diagrams, Cable Routing Drawings, Data sheets, P&ID’s, Isometrics, Plot Plans, Layouts etc.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of multiple discipline Quality Assurance certification, e.g. ATEX
  • Strong interpersonal skill, a flexible approach and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Documentation organisation skills and archiving experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge in MS office necessary.
