SHE Adviser –FPS south

FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, the post holder will provide SHE expertise to the INEOS FPS South team by providing expertise to the INEOS FPS Turnaround and Projects teams, including 3rd party contractors to ensure compliance with legislation and delivery of site HSE performance targets. Primary SHE contact for “set piece event” activities such as Projects, Turnarounds, Major Maintenance and de-commissioning; working across the Kinneil and Export Assets

Principle Accountabilities

  • Provide SHE expertise to all set piece activity to enable compliance with legislative requirements and INEOS standards

  • Provide input into front end engineering design (FEED) studies in order to foster a strong culture of inherently safe design within the planning stages of projects

  • SHE focal point for event managers throughout the life-cycle of planned events (planning, execution and commissioning)

  • Provide oversight of 3rd party contractor SHE management systems and identify actions to address non-compliances and improve contractor SHE performance

  • Primary contact for agency and 3rd party SHE professionals supporting set piece events

  • Where required, support vendor SHE prequalification

  • Support set piece event managers in the development of construction phase plans

  • Identify and consult with relevant set piece event managers where additional SHE studies / resources are required to deliver INEOS standards

  • Undertake SHE performance management of 3rd party contractors; making interventions where required

  • Provide SHE support to asset operations teams where required

  • Deliver site, local and turnaround inductions to communicate SHE rules and expectations

  • Supports the development and delivery of communications to all set piece event teams

  • Develop and oversee the Level 1 Assurance Plan for set piece events to allow effective monitoring of SHE performance

  • Lead investigations into SHE related incidents to identify root causes; making recommendations to prevent re-occurrence

  • Undertake Level 1 assurance activities to verify compliance with site standards

  • Have a strong working knowledge of construction health and safety requirements Inc. CDM

  • Support the Asset Care (AsCare) program – acting as a champion for positive change

  • Assist with the development of robust systems and procedures to satisfy legislative requirements to meet INEOS FPS business SHE goals

  • Work closely with wider SHE Organisation and is the SHE focal point for driving the SHE strategy within the asset

Qualifications, knowledge and Skills

  • NEBOSH Diploma or Degree

  • Extensive experience in a SHE related role

  • Chartered Member of a relevant body

  • Experience working within a CoMAH regulated environment

  • Experience of working with Projects and Turnarounds (Preferable)

  • Strong collaborator

  • A passion for SHE & Compliance and for driving continuous improvement

  • Master’s Degree (Preferable)

  • Professional certification/qualification (Lead Investigator, Lead Auditor would be helpful but not essential)
