This is an exciting time to join us at our Grangemouth site, INEOS’ largest manufacturing asset which includes Scotland’s only crude oil refinery. Having committed to significant investment over the next few years, we now require a Technical Support Engineer with relevant experience, to play a key role in the delivery and support of this growth in our business.

Job Purpose:

As a Technical Support Engineer for Kinneil Gas you will provide professional Chemical Engineering support to all aspects of Asset Operations required to deliver short through long term sanctioned Asset strategy.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain all Asset technical process registers to ensure continued operation within asset design and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver all formal Chemical Engineering input and approval for all plant modifications to ensure delivery of fit for purpose, fully documented Asset improvements (including all TAR modifications scope).
  • Provide Chemical Engineering discipline expertise in troubleshooting asset vulnerabilities to minimise impact upon the short to long term asset operating plan.             
  • Develop and implement TAR process inspection program and recommend remedial actions/development requirements to Asset management.
  • Operate Asset worklist database to allow definition and prioritisation of asset SHE, reliability, capability and growth projects required to deliver targets specified in the sanctioned Asset strategy.                    
  • Coach/mentor interns and graduates to support professional development of individuals and increase asset/Site/company competency levels.
  • Represent the Asset with Site Process Safety network/forum to ensure Asset adheres to and supports Site and Regulator requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered, degree qualified chemical engineer with demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of working on a site plant including; modifications procedure and associated documentation management systems.
  • Experience working on a top tier COMAH site
  • IT literate
